FAQ

  • My typical client is any homeowner who plans to improve their space themselves, with an architect and/or with a builder.

This ranges from the client who wants to maximize their current space with inexpensive upgrades to the client undergoing a full home renovation or new build. They haven’t hired a full-service interior designer, but they want their project to benefit from an interior designer’s expertise.

  • I can advise on anything related to an interior design project — the budget, floor plan layouts, cabinet style, finishes, plumbing, electrical / lighting, drawing review, construction process, site walks, you name it…

I’ll help you consider design options and implications at a professional level, so you get the most out of your home improvement investment.

For the person looking to maximize their current space, I can provide:

    • Direction on where to place the furnishing items you have, what to keep, what to buy.

    • Suggestions for paint, lighting or plumbing upgrades.

    • Ideas for how you can modify your floor plan to achieve your goals like a more open layout or adding a powder bath.

For the person considering a major renovation or new build, I can:

    • Review drawings from your architect through an interior lens pointing out any general improvement opportunities, or changes that will help support your lifestyle.

    • Assess finishes and fixtures selected by you, your architect or your builder to ensure that everything works together, and is aligned with your project style.

    • Provide guidance during any on site meeting where quick decisions must be made like the electrical walk-through.

  • I can offer guidance during any phase of your project whether you’re first considering some changes, reviewing drawings and specs from your architect, or trying to decide where the furniture should go.

  • If you’re a homeowner, we will meet in person at your home or project site.

Consultation with design professionals can happen in person, over Zoom or via email.

  • I share my expertise through live feedback, advice and suggestions for your project. Design work will include sketches to convey ideas and general design directions. For example, I may suggest a simple, black chandelier and pull up a concept image. You’ll then need to source the fixture that fits the unique parameters of your project.

If you are looking for someone to create drawings and select finishes, fixtures or furnishings, you’ll need to hire a full-service interior designer.

  • The minimum commitment is a two hour on-site consultation for $1,000.00.

Additional time is billed at $400.00/hr.

The more I see and hear, the better feedback I can provide.
