I’m Kirstin DiMartile.

An interior designer turned consultant that’s ready to help you make the most of your space!

I was fortunate to spend 20 years doing what I love - creating interiors which felt personal and meaningful to each unique client.

I designed spaces to be clean yet visually layered; tailored yet inviting with just the right touch of whimsy.

I believe that a beautiful, high functioning home allows people to truly thrive.

Growing up in Seattle . . .

I was a kid who rearranged the furniture for fun, and had lots of opinions about color and lighting.

From a young age, I realized that our immediate surroundings have a big impact on our daily experience.

My natural interest and aptitude eventually turned into dreams of an interior design career.

. . . I followed my dream down to sunny California.

  • 2002

    Began studies at Design Institute of San Diego where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design

  • 2005

    Started my first interior design position at a commercial architecture firm. The projects were mostly simple office spaces, but the large firm was run like a well oiled machine. I gained valuable experience in project process, documentation and space planning (my favorite part!)

  • 2008

    Joined a boutique interiors firm back in Seattle, specializing in high-end residential and multi-family work. While leading the interiors team for complex custom homes and apartment towers, I became proficient at the highest levels of interior design, custom furnishings and customer service.

  • 2015

    Earned NCIDQ certification and Founded Habitat Design Studio. As a solo designer, I provided full-service interior design services to referred clients, and honed my unique processes for design and project management.

  • 2023

    Habitat Design Studio became Habitat Design Consulting! I transitioned away from the intensity of full service project work, but still want to help people transform their lives by transforming their habitats.

Outside of design . . .

I am always looking to learn, grow, connect and have some fun! Here are a few of my favorite things:

I love exploring our world. Whether at a local park or in a far away country, I’m endlessly inspired by nature, animals, people and culture.

Nothing is better than making memories with friends and family. Whether it's a concert, karaoke, or a good conversation over dinner and champagne.

My dance fitness class gives me life! You can find me getting down to pop, hip hop and dancehall most days of the week.

At the end of the day, I am grateful to relax at home with my ‘cool nerd’ husband and our spoiled dog Marlo - the best girl in the world.
